SV	Toen kwamen al de wijzen des konings in; maar zij konden dit schrift niet lezen, noch den koning deszelfs uitlegging bekend maken.
WLC	אֱדַ֙יִן֙ [עָלֲלִין כ] (עָֽלִּ֔ין ק) כֹּ֖ל חַכִּימֵ֣י מַלְכָּ֑א וְלָֽא־כָהֲלִ֤ין כְּתָבָא֙ לְמִקְרֵ֔א [וּפִשְׁרָא כ] (וּפִשְׁרֵ֖הּ ק) לְהֹודָעָ֥ה לְמַלְכָּֽא׃
Trans.	’ĕḏayin ‘āləlîn ‘āllîn kōl ḥakîmê maləkā’ wəlā’-ḵâălîn kəṯāḇā’ ləmiqərē’ ûfišərā’ ûfišərēhh ləhwōḏā‘â ləmaləkā’:

AC	ח אדין עללין (עלין) כל חכימי מלכא ולא כהלין כתבא למקרא ופשרא (ופשרה) להודעה למלכא
ASV	Then came in all the king's wise men; but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation.
BE	Then all the king's wise men came in: but they were not able to make out the writing or give the sense of it to the king.
